Terms of Service

Last updated: 30 May 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Numro ("the Service") at www.numro.co.uk, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The Service is operated by Ojonugwa Egwuda, a sole trader based in Oxford, UK. We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZC134542.

2. Description of service

Numro is a financial information tool designed to help UK self-employed individuals and sole traders understand their tax obligations, classify business expenses, track budgets, and plan their finances. The Service uses HMRC published rates and guidance but is operated independently of HMRC.

The Service is currently provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future, in which case clear pricing and terms will be presented before any charge is applied.

3. Not financial or tax advice

Numro provides information only, not advice. The calculations and classifications provided are for guidance purposes and do not constitute financial, tax, legal, or accounting advice. Tax law is complex and individual circumstances vary.

You should always verify your tax position with HMRC directly or consult a qualified accountant before making financial decisions or filing tax returns. Numro accepts no liability for any tax liability, penalties, or losses arising from use of the Service.

4. AI-generated outputs

Numro uses an AI expense classifier (powered by Google Gemini) to suggest HMRC categories and allowability for business expenses. While the classifier is grounded in HMRC published guidance and evaluated against a benchmark, AI-generated outputs may occasionally be incorrect or out of date. You should not rely solely on AI classifications when filing your tax return. Always review classifications against current HMRC guidance, especially for borderline or high-value expenses.

Numro accepts no liability for tax positions taken on the basis of AI-generated classifications. The user remains responsible for the accuracy of their tax return.

5. Accuracy of information

We make every effort to keep rates, thresholds, and calculations accurate and up to date with current HMRC guidance. However, we cannot guarantee that all information is current or error-free. Tax rules change and there may be a delay between rule changes and our updates. Always check HMRC's official guidance at gov.uk for the authoritative position.

6. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or are used for fraudulent purposes.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' data
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the Service
  • Use the Service to process data on behalf of others without their consent
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person
  • Submit content designed to manipulate the AI classifier into producing misleading or unlawful outputs

8. Data and privacy

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference. The Privacy Policy is available at www.numro.co.uk/privacy. By using Numro, you consent to our data practices as described therein.

9. Intellectual property

All content, design, and software comprising Numro is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by UK and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

You retain ownership of any data you enter into the Service. By entering data, you grant us a limited licence to process that data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you, as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Availability

We aim to keep Numro available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend the Service for maintenance or updates with or without notice. We are not liable for any loss arising from temporary unavailability of the Service.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Numro shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to tax penalties, financial losses, or data loss.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability which cannot be excluded under UK law.

Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed £100, or the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

On termination, our obligations to you under these terms end, except where rights or obligations are expressed to survive (including data subject rights under the Privacy Policy).

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the site. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
